President / CEO

Jon Kessler is the President and CEO of HealthEquity, managing the company's day-to-day operations and leading the Board of Directors. He joined HealthEquity in 2009.

Jon is the founder of WageWorks (NYSE: WAGE), a provider of tax-advantaged programs for consumer-directed health, commuter and other employee spending account benefits. During his tenure as chairman and CEO from 2000 through 2007, WageWorks was named to the Inc. 500 list of US private growth companies three consecutive years, growing from zero to nearly $100m in sales. Jon was also previously a senior economist in Washington, DC, specializing in employee benefits and environmental taxation during the Clinton and Bush (Sr.) administrations, and a benefits taxation specialist at Arthur Andersen, LLP.

Jon holds a master's degree in Public Policy from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government and a bachelor's degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC. He holds a US patent for inventions covering methods for electronically adjudicating pre-tax healthcare and other expense transactions. Jon is an advisory board member of the Innovation in Insurance program of the University of South Carolina's Moore School of Business.

Stephen D. Neeleman, MD

Founder / Vice Chair

Dr. Stephen Neeleman is the Founder and Vice Chairman of HealthEquity. Steve founded HealthEquity in 2002, with the vision to repair the fractured relationship between patients and their physicians and to help more people obtain quality health insurance by re-introducing consumerism to health care. Steve is the co-author of The Complete HSA Guidebook—How to Make Health Savings Accounts Work for You, in its 5th Edition.

In addition to his duties as Founder and Vice Chairman of HealthEquity, Steve is currently a practicing general and trauma surgeon for Intermountain Healthcare at American Fork Hospital and Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. As a board-certified physician, Steve brings his passion and firsthand knowledge from the practice of medicine to his leadership role at HealthEquity.

Steve was appointed by Utah's Governor, Gary Herbert, to serve as a board member of HIP Utah, Utah's high-risk insurance pool. He also serves on the Council for Affordable Health Insurance HSA Working Group, and on America's Health Insurance Plans' HSA Leadership Council.

Prior to his medical training, Steve worked as the General Airport Manager for Morris Air (later acquired by Southwest Airlines), based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Steve helped combine efficiency, technology, and excellent customer service to succeed in a rocky industry. This innovative business model allowed Morris Air to rise above financially struggling competitors. Steve's goal is to use this model to help save another struggling industry—health care.

Steve completed his undergraduate degree and played football at Utah State University. He attended medical school at the University of Utah and completed his surgical training at the University of Arizona. Steve also served as an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Arizona.

Darcy Mott

Executive Vice President / CFO

Darcy Mott joined HealthEquity as Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer in March 2007. At HealthEquity, Darcy is responsible for all finance and trust operations.

Darcy began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. where he served a variety of public and private audit clients in both the Boise and Chicago offices. After nine years, Darcy left public accounting and joined Novell, Inc., a networking software company.

At Novell, he served for 12 years in various financial management positions, including eight years as Treasurer. Darcy had responsibility for all treasury functions, external financial reporting, shareholder services, credit and collections, risk management, internal audit, corporate travel,corporate aviation, and worldwide facilities.

In 1999, Darcy joined The Canopy Group, a technology investment company, as Vice President, Treasurer, and Chief Financial Officer. At Canopy, he was responsible for all finance operations and was on the Board of Directors of several portfolio companies, both public and private. After leaving Canopy in December 2004, Darcy served as an independent investor and business consultant until he joined HealthEquity.

Darcy holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University and is a Certified Public Accountant.


Ashley Dreier

Executive Vice President / CTO / CIO

Ashley Dreier joined HealthEquity as Chief Information and Technology Officer in February 2013. Ashley is responsible for software development, technology infrastructure, and information services.

Prior to joining HealthEquity, Ashley served as Vice President Technology and Product Development at Krames StayWell where she was responsible for product and project management as well as software development, testing, and technical operations. In this capacity, she led her team in revamping the entire product development process achieving significant efficiencies and growth opportunities.

Before joining Krames StayWell, Ashley was the Director of Product Development at GE Corporate Finance. While at GE, she was responsible for development of software products associated with corporate purchasing and T&E credit cards. Her professional background also includes Director of Software Project Management and Director of Information Systems at Wolters Kluwer and Sr. Financial Analyst at Boeing Company. Ashley is a well-organized, results-oriented leader with proven ability to implement technologies, best practices, tools, and processes that contribute to business improvement and revenue growth. She is also a dynamic leader with the ability to create and direct vision as well as manage tactical execution.

Ashley holds a Bachelors of Science, Accounting and a Master of Science, Information Systems both from the University of Utah.


Jon Soldan

Executive Vice President of Operations

Jon Soldan serves as Executive Vice President of Operations at HealthEquity. He leads all service delivery functions and back-office operations, ultimately driving the company’s commitment and passion to provide world-class experiences to our members, partners, and employers.

Prior to joining HealthEquity, Jon was Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Entrata, Inc., the leading platform-as-a-service (PAAS) provider in the property management industry. He has also led teams at Verizon Wireless, Progrexion, StayWell, and Galileo Processing. Jon also spent some time in full-time academic work at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business as a faculty member and director of their Information Systems programs. He still teaches part-time in the Operations and Information Systems department.

Mr. Soldan holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Utah, Master’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Utah, and an MBA from Utah State University.


Del Ladd

Executive Vice President / General Counsel & Secretary

Del Ladd serves as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of HealthEquity, Inc. and leads our Legal Department. He has substantial experience in corporate governance, securities and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining HealthEquity in 2016, Del worked in New York for Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado and St. John’s School of Law School, where he graduated cum laude.


Brad Bennion

Senior Vice President of Product

Brad Bennion has nine years of healthcare experience and joined HealthEquity more than seven years ago. In his current role, he leads the product team. Brad has been instrumental in the development of the HealthEquity proprietary account administration platform and has directly implemented many of the company's largest partners and clients. Drawing upon his years of experience in both implementation and account management, Brad is leading the company's efforts in developing new products that enable members to more effectively build health savings. He is passionate about developing and delivering innovative solutions that meet the needs of our partners and members.

Prior to joining HealthEquity, Brad worked for Ingenix as a Sr. Business Analyst. He earned an MBA from Brigham Young University.

Natalie Atwood

Senior Vice President of People

Natalie serves as the Senior Vice President of People leading the human resource function for HealthEquity. Natalie brings her love of developing people and her commitment to service excellence to this role.

Natalie started with HealthEquity in 2006 working in Operations, learning the day-to-day administrative processes. Within months, she was promoted to lead the Member Services organization. She led the fast paced, 24/7/365 service center until 2012. While managing this critical function the number of members grew from 10,000 to over 550,000.

Natalie worked for American Express for 10 years where she led teams of financial advisors in Salt Lake City and Minneapolis. She oversaw the Workforce Management function for a 700-seat service center, and also provided leadership in the Corporate Training department. While there, she earned eight Top Performer Awards, a Diversity Team Recognition, and her Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Natalie has held NASD Series 6, 7, 9 and 63 securities licenses, earned an Adult Learning Certificate and Master of Education from Westminster College, and attended Utah State University.
